-       Did you know that in BC there are no EMF Scientists or Medical Experts who study the biological or health effects of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields?

-       Did you know in an email September 2018, Tom Kosatsky, BCCDC, in response to Dr. Bonnie Henry request for an expert opinion said, “ while I am not a cancer epidemiologist, nor a specialist in the health effects of non-ionizing radiation...”

-       Did you know in an email September 2018, Tom Kosatsky, BCCDC said “I believe the association of meningiomas with frequent and longer duration use of 3G and earlier cellphone use is compelling, and justifies public health as well as manufacturers' advice to avid direct contact between the phone and the user's head. Texting, Bluetooth and earphone use as well possibly the adoption of modern 4G devices would also be in line with this advice.”

-       Did you know In 2013, almost 8 years ago, the BC Center for Disease Control, cautioned in their 400 page report on RF/EMR that their findings are consistent with many international experts who continue to warn that prolonged exposure to low levels of microwave radio frequency radiation from wireless devices that include wi-fi, ipads, cell phones, cordless phones and smart meters, can lead to serious health effects such as infertility and cancer, children especially at risk?

-       Did you know Dr. Bonnie Henry has been unable to provide us with a copy of the studies and the recent publications that she said her department recently "reviewed" along with the names of the scientists and medical experts who stated microwave radiation exposure is safe as per letter dated Jan. 4, 2019?

-       Did you know Dr. Bonnie Henry has refused to provide us with an official response to the 2018, current findings of the two 10 year long studies on 2G and 3G technology by US National Toxicology Program and the supporting Ramazzini Institute Study that confirmed the link to Cancer from all prolonged wireless radiation exposure including cell tower radiation?

-       Did you know that Dr. Bonnie Henry is using the BC Cancer Agency for a reference for Wi-Fi safety in our schools when this agency clearly have a vested interest in supporting the wireless industry in return for millions of dollars in donations?  Telus, Glentel and BC Hydro are long time supporters of this organization.

-       Did you know health is a Provincial Jurisdiction and Dr. Bonnie Henry has an obligation and a duty to protect our children by taking the reasonable steps to reduce wireless radiation in our schools given the overwhelming amount of evidence of harm?

-       Did you know Dr. Bonnie Henry states in her email that “. . . and we continue to recommend people make personal choices to reduce their exposure?”

Our question is: How can parents make a “Personal Choice” to protect their children when microwave radiation exposure is mandatory 6 hours a day 5 days a week in all our public schools?

-       Did you know most of the media is owned by the wireless industry?

 

-       Did you know that the small independent media outlets rely on the wireless industry for their advertising dollars to survive?

 

-       Did you know the media refuses to inform the public’s “right to know” about the health risks from microwave radiation exposure?

 

-       Did you know the wireless industry “war-gamed the science” by funding industry friendly studies and attacking independent scientists and medical experts?

 

-       Did you know Canada’s big telecom companies and our government officials have met an average of twice every business day?

 

-       Did you know collectively, the companies met with CRTC chairman Ian Scott 11 times and Navdeep Bains, who was minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development until he stepped down in January, 13 times?

 

-       Did you know the prime minister in December named Michael Sabia, who was chief executive of Bell Canada Enterprises for six years, to the deputy finance minister post and Ian Scott, a former Telus lobbyist, the CRTC chair?

 

-       Did you know all levels of government have been infiltrated by the wireless industry to protect their interest?

 

-       Did you know the wireless industry is one of the fastest growing on Earth, raking in annual sales of $440 billion in 2016?

 

-       Did you know that protecting the profits of the wireless industry is more important than the health and well being of our children?

 

Our question is: Will you protect our children’s health by connecting to the Internet by using hard-wired fiber optics?

-        Did you know Canada does not have any regulations in place to protect the public from the long-term exposure to the biological effects of the “non-thermal” levels of microwave radiation emitting from wireless technology?

-        Did you know that in 2013, James McNamee, scientist for Health Canada, admitted in the Superior Court of Quebec, that the Safety Code 6 guidelines for microwave radiation emitting from wireless technology is based ONLY on thermal effects, heating of the skin?

-        Did you know Safety Code 6 was first published in 1979 and was based on the premise that if microwave radiation did not heat, it would not harm living tissue?

-        Did you know the safety information for Safety Code 6 is based on a 200-pound (91 kg) mannequin with a cell phone testing only for temperature changes not for any of the biological effects such as DNA damage?

-        Did you know there are thousands of peer-reviewed studies by scientists and medical experts proving serious health risks from the prolonged and accumulative exposure to microwave radiation dating as far back as 1970?

-       Did you know that Health Canada have willfully dismissed 140 peer reviewed studies in 2015 presented to them from qualified experts, nationally and internationally, which emphasizes the need for "precautionary" measures to reduce exposure and risk from the harmful effects?

-        Did you known that Health Canada’s summary of studies consist of 19 studies ranging from 1983 before the World Health Organization declare RF as a 2B carcinogen, in 2011, to 2012, then jumping to 2016?

-        Did you know Health Canada had announced their support for a 2016 study by James McNamee, et al., done in 2012, where mice were exposed for 4 hours over 5 days and concluded no evidence of harm, claiming it was the most comprehensive study of its type ever done?

 -        Did you know Health Canada was unable to provide parents with ONE peer reviewed study by a scientist or medical expert stating, “Exposure to microwave radiation is safe for children and the unborn?”

 

Our question is: Why would you jeopardize our children’s health and well being by relying on old outdated information from Health Canada and Safety Code 6 when there is a safer alternative to connect to the Internet?

We would like to applaud School Trustee, Amy Geistlinger for taking the initiative to try to education the trustees of Central Okanagan Public Schools on the health effects of mandatory exposure of microwave radiation in our schools.  It takes leadership to challenge what is popular and address the need for more education on the safe use of wireless technology.

 

Amy Giestlinger has done her due diligence by asking for all credible health information be presented to the trustees from qualified experts, nationally and internationally, who emphasize children's heightened vulnerabilities and the need for "precautionary" measures to reduce exposure and the risk of permanent health effects.

 

It is obvious that Amy Giestlinger is trying in good faith to fulfill her moral and legal obligation, to protect our children, while under her care in our schools.

 

Parents, teachers and students who have expressed their concerns in the past, only to have them ignored, would like to Thank You Amy!

 - Did you know Apple says, “Read all safety information below and operating instructions before using iPad to avoid injury?” 

- Did you know the manual warns that if a user does not handle the iPad exactly as instructed, the radiation level will exceed governments’ exposure limits for humans? 

 - Did you know the iPad has five antennas? 

 - Did you know when your child is holding an iPad in portrait mode on their lap or near their chest; the microwave radiation is penetrating their internal organs? 

- Did you know that every female is born with all the eggs they will ever have to reproduce? 

- Did you know when your child is holding an iPad in landscape mode their hands are covering the transmitting antennas and absorbing microwave radiation directly into their bodies? 

- Did you know an iPad emits a burst of microwave radiation approximately every four seconds? 

 - Did you know that makes 900 blasts per hour in 
the child’s hands, on their lap, or at their face? 

- Did you know the WHO states: “The general population receives the highest exposure from transmitters close to the body... In children... deposition of RF energy may be two times higher in the brain and up to ten times higher in the bone marrow of the skull than in adult users?” 

 - Did you know the Safety Manual warns of Seizures, Blackouts, and Eyestrain, stating that a small percentage of people may be susceptible to blackouts or seizures (even if they have never had one before) when exposed to flashing lights or light patterns such as when playing games or watching video? That if you have experienced seizures or blackouts or have a family history of such occurrences, you should consult a physician before playing games or watching videos on your iPad. 

 - Did you know the Safety Manual says to discontinue use of iPad and consult a physician if you experience headaches, blackouts, seizures, convulsion, eye or muscle twitching, loss of awareness, involuntary movement, or disorientation? And to reduce risk of headaches, blackouts, seizures, and eyestrain, avoid prolonged use, hold iPad some distance from your eyes, use iPad in a well-lit room, and take frequent breaks. 

Our question is: Why are our School Officials not educating our children to follow the federally mandated Safety Manual that comes with every wireless device?

Parents, teachers and students are frustrated because the BC Government, Health Officials and School Officials have willfully dismissed all credible health information presented to them from qualified experts, nationally and internationally, which emphasizes children's heightened vulnerabilities and the need for "precautionary" measures to reduce exposure and risk from the harmful effects.

In a letter dated Nov. 19, 2014, Dr. Richard Stanwick, School Medical Officer, responded to my request to hard wired the classrooms so my grandson could attend school by stating: Upon review of the evidence, the prevailing position in this province from experts at the federal, provincial and regional levels is that the evidence reveals that Wi-Fi exposure in schools does not pose a level of risk that is unacceptable. This position is held by the other chief medical health officers in the province, Provincial Health Officer, Ministry of Health and other federal and provincial agencies. 

In 2011 the WHO / International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified radio frequency electromagnetic fields as possibly carcinogenic to humans (Group2B), based on an increased risk for glioma, a malignant type of brain cancer1, associated with wireless phone use.
