Consumer Reports - Does Cell-Phone Radiation Cause Cancer?

Pediatricians' New Warning: Limit children's exposure to cellphones
"Children are not little adults," Dr. Gisela Mercada-Deane, chair of radiology at the American Academy of Pediatrics, said. "The amount of radio frequency that children will be exposed by the time they are our age [an adult] is exponential to the amount of radiation, radio frequencies that we ourselves are being exposed to in a lifetime."...

Dr. Oz Show - Does your Cell Phone Case Increase Your Radiation Risk?
Watch Dr. Mehmet Oz explore how cellphone radiation to the brain is tested in the lab, how phone coverings can increase radiation, the fine print warnings and the new Consumer Reports recommendations.

Parent’s success in stopping WiFI installation at Australian School
An Australian mum has been successful in preventing installation of WiFi at her child’s school and has worked with the school in drafting EMR precautionary measures by requesting compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and Article 9: Accessibility from the Conventions on the Rights of the Disabled to accommodate her child’s functional impairment.

Why are the School Boards not listening to the parents, teachers and children?

Worldwide Precautionary Action
The policies listed below, countries like Switzerland, Italy, France, Austria, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Israel, Russia and China have set RF exposure limits 100 to 10,000 times less than the USA. They recognize that there can be non-thermal biological effects from wireless radiation.

The city council of Berkeley, Calif., has also acted. In May 2015, it approved a “Right to Know” law that requires electronics retailers to notify consumers about the proper handling of cell phones. CTIA-The Wireless Association, a trade group, is now trying to block that law from going into effect, as it successfully did after San Francisco passed its own Right to Know law five years ago.

First US Public School District Limits Wi-Fi Radiation Exposure to Students and Staff

US Massachusetts school district now joins dozens of schools and governments that have already implemented even more stringent measures to reduce wireless exposure to children. For example, Israel and France have banned Wi-Fi in kindergarten. The European Union recommends wired Internet rather than wireless in schools.

Can excessive use of Wi-Fi, gadgets, trigger headaches, allergies?
"Very common symptoms and sensations of EHS are irritation, headache, stammering, hearing loss, dizziness, ringing delusion, disrupted sleep, stress, fatigue and restlessness," he added.

Boil the Frog Slowly with special guest Kevin Mottus

June 2014 - Kevin Mottus, Congressional Candidate from California shares an important part of his platform - and that is to minimize radio frequency radiation exposure from all wireless devices and infrastructure to protect the health of our children.

Suppressing the Science on Cellphones
Sept 2010 - Dr. Franz Adlkofer at the Harvard Law Center for Ethics Lecture in 2011 discusses how he was unjustly accused of scientific fraud for his REFLEX study findings that cell phone radiation damages DNA. In this lecture he describes the institutional corruption and Industry involvement that led to accusations that his work was fraudulent.
He was later exonerated and the accusations entirely dismissed by an ethics panel after an investigation showed that these accusations were unfounded.

City of Berkeley fends off wireless industry suit over health warning

The City of Berkeley requires that customers be provided the following notice:

To assure safety, the Federal Government requires that cell phones meet radio frequency (RF) exposure guidelines. If you carry or use your phone in a pants or shirt pocket or tucked into a bra when the phone is ON and connected to a wireless network, you may exceed the federal guidelines for exposure to RF radiation. Refer to the instructions in your phone or user manual for information about how to use your phone safely.

Consumer Reports agrees with concerns raised by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Government Accountability Office about the tests, and thinks that new tests should be developed that take into account the potential vulnerability of children.

Karl Maret, MD, Expert Forum on Cell Phone and Wireless Risks (10 min)
Dr. Maret talks about the risks to children in Wi-Fi classrooms, presenting case studies involving real-time, continuous dossimetry measurements, including cumulative exposures and the percentage of each school day unacceptable exposure levels occurred.

EHT Lauds Israel's Ban on Wi-Fi in Kindergarten and Limits to Children’s Wireless Exposures in Schools

Guidelines for the installation and operation of Wi-Fi networks in schools: Following a petition seeking an outright ban on Wi-Fi in Schools, the government is banning Wi-Fi in kindergartens and restricting hours of use in schools, installing equipment with exposures to be set as low as possible, and monitoring radiofrequency (RF) radiation levels.

CMAJ (Canadian Medical Association Journal): Parliamentary report calls for action on Wi-Fi
The federal government should “develop an awareness campaign relating to the safe use of wire-less technologies, such as cellphones and Wi-Fi, in key environments such as the school and home” while considering “policy measures regarding the marketing of radiation-emitting devices to children under the age of 14, in order to ensure they are aware of the health risks and how they can be avoided.”
